Occupational, safety, health & welfare

Compliance with Occupational, Safety, Health (OSH) Act 2005 through:

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIARA)

  • Identify and evaluate health and safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Determine if existing control measures are adequate or if additional measures are required.
  • Prioritize hazards and control measures.

Vaccination Program

Employees who are exposed to wastewater are vaccinated against:

  • Hepatitis A (every 10 years),
  • Tetanus (every 5 years), and
  • Typhoid (every 3 years)

Medical Surveillance

  • A Medical Surveillance Program is available for all those staff who are exposed or likely to be exposed to substances hazardous to health by carrying out specific medical tests. The aim is to identify medical conditions, if any, that could lead to an occupational disease.


  • Safety and health trainings as well as safety and health tool box talks are regularly organised to enable staff to adopt a safe working system for their own safety and that of others.

Sports and Welfare

The WMA provides facilities for all staff to participate in the following activities:

  • Football, Futsal, Badminton, and Squash
  • Yoga for female staff and
  • Wellness for all staff
